Pecan Shortbread Cookie

Cookies are very popular during the holidays but do you really need a holiday excuse to make/eat/give cookies? I don't think so.... and for this reason  we should all make this delicious shortbread cookie, good for any occasion.
Buttery like most of shortbread cookies but with a kick from the orange zest and the demerara sugar that goes on top. Delicate but still firm enough to be wrapped which makes an excellent choice as a gift. Like I always say... butter and pork are the pixie dust from the kitchen! (no pork on this one please)
 




Ingredients:
200g unsalted butter at room temperature (2 sticks)
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 tbsp orange zest
2 1/2 cups white flour
1 cup pecans or walnuts
2 tbsp Demerara or Turbinado sugar

  4. Oi Raiza, achei seu blog há uns 2 dias e tenho passado grande parte do meu tempo livre vendo seus vídeos! Seu blog está lindo e muito inspirador =) Sou louca por gastronomia, principalmente pela parte da confeitaria. Acabo de fazer os shortbread cookies e achei magníficos! Fiz com nozes, gotinhas de chocolate e um leve toque de raspas de limão.

  6. Raiza, acabei de fazer essa receita e ficou, simplesmente, DIVINA! Um pedacinho do paraíso na forma de biscoito...
    No entanto, fiz pequenas modificações na receita... Minha casa estava sem laranja, então usei limão. Além disso, por meu pai ser diabético, ao invés do açucar, utilizei adoçante culinário. De nada modificou o sabor.
    Moro no Rio, e hoje está um dia chuvoso, o que deixou tudo com um clima mais gostoso e aconchegante...
